FROM THE WORK · NH DOCK REPAIR

Lifting an ice-damaged dock back to level

Ice shifted the supports and split a stringer. Rope rigging brought the dock back to level for the structural repair.

When the support gave way

Ice had pushed the dock’s supports out of position. A stringer lost its support and split, leaving a section of the dock out of level. We needed to lift it back into position before securing and rebuilding the framing.

Rigged, not craned.

My background in rope rescue brings another set of skills to dock work. On this repair, we used rope rigging to lift the dock back to level, saving time and expense without bringing in heavy equipment.

The right approach for the job

We have heavy equipment available. Professional rigging gives us another way to solve the problem—often reducing the need to bring machinery onto a property, particularly where access is difficult. We choose the approach to suit the dock and the site.
